A farmer needs to transport a wolf, a goat, and a cabbage across a river. He has a boat, but it can only carry him and one other item at a time. If left alone, the wolf will eat the goat, and the goat will eat the cabbage. How can the farmer get all three items across the river safely?

Solution:
To solve this puzzle, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Take the goat across the river first and leave it on the opposite bank.
- Step 2: Go back to the original side and take the wolf across.
- Step 3: When the farmer reaches the other side with the wolf, he should bring the goat back with him.
- Step 4: Leave the goat on the starting side and take the cabbage across the river.
- Step 5: Finally, go back to the starting side, take the goat, and bring it across the river.
Now, all three items—the wolf, goat, and cabbage—are safely on the other side, with none of them being eaten!
